Resource-Specific Metrics and a Makeover

This past June, we rolled out the first phase of our metrics masterplan, our Insights Overview. We’ve expanded our metrics to now also include integration and tenant-specific metrics on their associated detail pages. Now, at a glance, quickly scan the health of all tenants on an integration and runs on a tenant. To highlight the additional metrics, we’ve also updated the look and feel of the Integration Hub. Now on the resources sidebar, you can see your number of integrations and tenants, as well as the status of your source control integration - no clicking needed. More information, quicker, and clearer.

YAML 1.0

We’re rolling out YAML version 1.0! This means more room for data, streamlined development, and cleaner code. YAML 1.0 introduces the full usage of tenant metadata. Tenant metadata is a validated, schema-backed store for the values an integration discovers at runtime, such as dynamic configurations and dependent selectors. Previous versions of the Pandium YAML have those values saved to the stdout of the last run. YAML 1.0 is opt-in and will not be applied automatically to any integrations or accounts. Please note that while we have no deprecation timeline for our older YAML versions, all additional features will be built on top of YAML 1.0. Read more, including our migration guide, here.

New Connectors

Our library of connectors is always expanding! This month, we’ve newly added TaxCloud and Odoo.

TaxCloud is a cloud-based sales tax compliance and automation service designed for ecommerce and SaaS businesses
Odoo is a suite of open source business apps that cover all your company needs: CRM, eCommerce, accounting, inventory, point of sale, project management, etc.

Get the system right!

In a world of cloud-hosted software, it’s easy to think that all you need to build an integration to a system is the name of the company and API docs. But anyone that’s been in the space for a while can tell you that simply saying “A SAP integration” or “A Sage integration” isn’t enough. That’s because Sage, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, and many other companies have many products, many installation options, and a whole lot of variability in how they communicate with the outside world. Before you say, “Yes, we’ll build a SAP integration,” make sure you know which SAP product, version, and hosting environment are actually required or commercially valuable to your business.
